Slow Cooker Porky Porcupine Meatballs

ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 pound lean pork (or use all beef)
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
2/3 cup uncooked rice
1 teaspoon salt
SAUCE
2 1/2 cups tomatoes
1 1/2 cup water or broth
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon basil
1 bay leaf
directions
Mix meats; add egg, milk, rice and salt. Form into 1-1/2" balls, brown in a large skillet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
For Sauce: Combine tomatoes, water, onion, salt, basil and bay leaf. Drain excess grease from meatballs and add to sauce mixture.
Cover and cook for 7 to 9 hours on low. Discard bay leaf before serving.
