Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

ingredients
5 1/2 pounds pot roast
2 cans (10.75 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
1 package (1 ounce size) dry onion soup mix
1 1/4 cup water
directions
Trim any excess fat from the roast and then place the roast in the crock pot.
In a bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and water. Mix well then pour over the roast in the crock pot.
Cover the crock pot and cook on high heat for 3 hours or on low for 6 hours, or until the roast is tender.
Serve the roast with the gravy from the crock pot, if desired.

I made the roast and it turned out very well following the recipe exactly. The only thing I did differently was add carrots and potatos.

My kids are picky so it's great when I find a recipe they like. I used 1 1/4 C water and I think there was too much gravy after cooking. I ended up with 8+ Cups, which would be good except I think the flavor of the onion soup was lost with all the liquid. I will try it again, cutting the liquid in half.

This is very tasty, but salty. I normally make it without the water though so that might be the reason

This couldn't be easier and my family enjoyed it. The sauce/gravy is quite salty so should be used moderately.
