Slow Cooker Ham Broccoli Chowder

ingredients
2 tablespoons flour
1 can (5 ounce size) evaporated milk
2 cups diced cooked ham
1 package (10 ounce size) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup grated Swiss cheese
2 cups water
1 cup light cream
directions
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and evaporated milk. Combine it with the ham, broccoli, onion, Swiss cheese, and water in the crock pot.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 3 hours or until heated through.
Stir in the cream. Cover the crock pot again and turn the heat to high. Cook for 15 minutes or until heated through (do not let the mixture boil or the cream may curdle).
Serve hot.

love love this recipe ...it came with a crock pot I had purchased years ago and I lost the booklet ... have made this many times and my daughter just ask for it , so hunted it down and will make this week . Thanks
I followed the instructions and the evaporated milk started to curdle!
Sounds like you have a crockpot that heats at too high a heat for most recipes. Certain brands are notoriously bad for this, unfortunately.

I doubled this recipe for a party of 5 adults and had no leftovers. I substituded chicken broth for water and it was delicious.
