Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

- #86286
30-60 minutes
ingredients
4 chicken breast halves
1/4 cup butter
salt and pepper
1 cup lemon-lime carbonated beverage
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 cup sour cream
directions
Brown the chicken in the butter in a skillet large enough to hold all the pieces. Combine remaining ingredients except the sour cream and pour over the chicken. Cover and cook for 20-30 minutes or until chicken is tender and cooked through.
Remove chicken from skillet and mix the sour cream with the liquid in the skillet. Blend until smooth. Return chicken to skillet and keep warm until ready to serve (do not let the mixture boil at this point or the sour cream may curdle).
