The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
Chocolate Pistachio Cake

ingredients
1 package white or yellow cake mix (2 layer size)
1 package instant pistachio pudding and pie filling
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
4 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup chocolate syrup
powdered sugar (optional)
directions
Blend cake mix, pudding mix, orange juice, water, eggs and oil until moistened; beat at medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
Pour 3/4 of the batter into well-greased and floured bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan. Blend chocolate-flavored syrup into remaining batter; pour over batter in pan.
Bake at 350 degree F for about 1 hour or until done. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
