Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

ingredients
1 package (6 ounce size) orange gelatin powder
2 cups boiling water
2 packages (3 ounce. size) cream cheese, softened
1 can (14 ounce size) sweetened condensed milk

Fold the whipped topping into the orange mixture. Transfer to a 2 1/2 quart decorative serving bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 4 hours or until the salad is set.
Serve chilled. Store leftovers in the refrigerator in a covered container for 1-2 days. Garnish, if desired, with thinly sliced oranges.

This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
