Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

Does anyone know if the turnovers can be frozen after they are baked and cooled but before the icing goes on?
If these were made with regular pastry I would think you could, but since they are made with crescent roll dough I don't know if they'd freeze as well.
