1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons corn syrup

1/4 cup brown sugar, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Beat egg whites to stiff peaks; set aside.

Combine water, syrup and sugars in saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved.

Beat the syrup into egg whites at medium speed. Continue to beat until stiff peaks are again formed, about 5 minutes.
