  1. FVF REVIEW:

Finally, an excellent bread. I have made umteen loaves of bread in my bread machine. This is the only one I like. I used the machine to mix and bake this bread. Used basic cycle, 1 1/2 lb loaf with light crust setting. Came out with a very good size, just like I was looking for. Almost like expensive breads from the store, only better and cheaper. Won't be looking any more for another recipe. Can also make it with butter flavored shortening. Came out exactly the same. THE BEST!!!

  2. islandpiper REVIEW:

I often bake outside in a cast iron dutch oven, both at home and in the swamps of S.E. Louisiana. This bread is a good candidate for this style of baking. Someday i might feel adventurous and actually bake inside in the oven. I posted several pictures...have no idea where they ended up. piper

Soft as a wonder indeed! I have been experimenting with replacing the milk with yogurt (due to lack of milk) and even then the bread turned out excellent! Thanks for sharing.
