It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

A sweet, zesty recipe for glazed chicken legs that are delicious served hot or cold.

1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon honey
1 clove garlic, crushed
3 tablespoons corn oil
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili sauce
2 pinches five spice powder
8 chicken drumsticks
1 fresh watercress sprigs (optional)
1 slice lemon (optional)
In a saucepan, combine onion, honey, garlic, 2 tablespoons of oil, ketchup and tomato paste. Add Worcestershire sauce, chili sauce and five spice powder and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a blender or food processor, process mixture to a smooth paste. Add remaining oil and stir well. Arrange chicken in a roasting pan. Brush with marinade and let stand 1 hour.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Bake chicken in preheated oven 35-40 minutes, turning and brushing frequently with marinade juices.
Serve hot or cold, garnished with watercress sprigs and lemon slices, if desired.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

When this recipe says "tangy" it just means flavorful, not spicy. If you want more zip to it, use chili sauce in place of the ketchup. I doubled the recipe and served it hot. It. Was. Delicious.
