It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Serve these tasty slow cooked chicken drumsticks with lots of extra napkins!
4 pounds chicken drumsticks, skinned if desired
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon thyme leaves
1 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 onion, sliced
Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and set aside.
Combine the salt, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, garlic powder, and black powder in a small bowl. Mix well. Rub the spice mixture on the chicken, coating it on all sides. Place the chicken in a plastic container, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, place the onions in the bottom of the crock pot. Top with the chicken pieces.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

Like the other person, my chicken was done in 6 hours but I anticipated that it wouldn't take as long to cook so I planned accordingly. I also have an old crock pot that I think would take the longer cooking time but I needed the larger one for 4 pounds of legs. The chicken was very tender but not falling off the bone so it was easy to eat. Some of the leg recipes get overcooked and are impossible to eat but this was good. And lots of flavor. I didn't alter any of the spices but I imagine you can adjust them. I think it might be good with a hint of sweet in it too like a little brown sugar. Will try experimenting since it's a easy and cheap recipe to make.

OMG these are good! I'm going to make it again using chicken wings. I cooked on low for 6 hours and that was perfect. SO GOOD!!!!!!!

Glad I thought to check these when I did because they were done in SIX hours on low. I know crock pots can cook differently but that's pretty significant. We ate dinner early as a result.
