Chicken legs are coated in a seasoned flour mixture and fried, then baked with a spicy barbecue sauce glaze.

12 chicken legs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 1/2 cup cooking oil
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup hot sauce, or to taste
Combine the flour, cayenne, chili powder, onion powder, and garlic salt in a large zip-top plastic bag. Add the chicken legs to the bag and shake to coat. Place the bag in the refrigerator for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
Heat the cooking oil in a skillet to 360-375 degrees F.
In a shallow dish, combine the barbecue sauce and hot sauce.
Remove chicken from bag and shake off any excess flour.
Place the chicken, in batches if needed, in the hot oil and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the chicken from the oil and place in the barbecue sauce mixture, turning to coat completely in the sauce. Transfer the chicken to the foil-lined baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 35 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and registers 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer.
Serve hot with additional barbecue sauce, if desired.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Keeping a can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the freezer means you can make more than just orange juice. Try it in a variety of orange-flavored recipes.
