Elegant Tuna Casserole

ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup cream
1 can (10 ounce size) cream of shrimp soup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, more if desired
1/2 cup sliced almonds
dry sherry, to taste
1/2 pound crab meat
1 can tuna in water, drained
1 cup stuffing mix
1 cup grated cheddar cheese, for topping
buttered bread crumbs (for topping), if desired
directions
Saute onion and celery in butter until softened. Add flour and stir to a smooth paste. Pour in cream, stirring until mixture thickens. Add remaining ingredients except for cheese.
Put in a buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole and top with the cheese and buttered bread crumbs, if using.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until bubbly (probably an hour if prepared ahead and cold when the casserole goes into the oven).
