Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

ingredients
1 cup evaporated milk
2 cups water, divided
3 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 dash salt
8 teaspoons sugar
1 dash nutmeg
directions
Heat milk and half the water to a fast boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat.
In a mixing bowl, mix flour, cocoa, salt and sugar with remaining water and mix until creamy. Add cocoa mixture to milk mixture and blend in well.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Allow it to come to a carefully watched bubbly boil.
Serve in mugs. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
