4 cups milk
1/2 pound dark chocolate, finely chopped
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more as needed
whipped cream
Heat the milk in a large saucepan over medium heat. Do not let it boil. Add the chocolate and cook, stirring constantly, until the chocolate has dissolved.
Add the pumpkin pie spice and stir to mix. Bring the hot chocolate just to a simmer then pour into heat-proof mugs.
Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired.

We made this at Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. Some of the grownups added bailey's pumpkin spice for a boozy version.
