This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

The recipe as it was presented didn't taste all that great and was a much thinner sauce than I had expected. So I first added a couple of tsp of grape jelly that I have seen in other sweet & sour recipes, when this still didn't taste right, I added a couple of teaspoons of ketchup and then a couple of tsp of white sugar. It then tasted good, but still not quite what I was expecting from the beginning. However, my husband and child liked it. I simmered meatballs in this altered sauce...it was still a very thin sauce though.
