4 tablespoons butter
2 cups long grain white rice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 cups water
1 cup raisins
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the rice and stir to coat in the melted butter.
Stir the cinnamon, salt, and turmeric into the rice. Mix well then slowly stir in the water.
Bring the rice to a boil. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to a simmer. Let cook for 20-30 minutes or until the rice is tender. Remove the cinnamon sticks.
Stir the raisins into the rice. Cover the rice and let heat through for 1-2 minutes longer.
Serve warm.
