Fun Food Holidays™
June 1st, 2025 is National Hazelnut Cake Day

National Hazelnut Cake Day

Hazelnuts, also called Filberts, are from the Hazel tree. They have a slightly sweet flavor that makes them ideal for use in baking.

Worldwide there are over 100 varieties of hazelnuts grown and 70% of those come from Turkey. However, in the U.S. 99% of our hazelnuts are grown in Oregon instead of being imported.

Hazelnuts are also rich in Vitamin E, protein and fiber and believed to be one of the highest natural sources of antioxidants.

So now you can have your cake and eat it too with Hazelnut Cake - delicious and nutritious!
