The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup sour cream
2 3/4 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cream butter and sugar well. Beat in egg yolk, sour cream and vanilla. Gradually blend in dry ingredients which have been sifted together.
Fill cookie press. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
