A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

Make snack time special with this creamy Braunschweiger dip, blending liver sausage, cream cheese, and a smidgen of garlic. Your crackers never had it so good.

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 pound braunschweiger or liver sausage
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
1/4 cup heavy cream
chopped chives, for garnish
Place the cream cheese in a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add the braunschweiger and mix on low speed until blended.
Add the mayonnaise, mustard, garlic salt, onion, and heavy cream. Mix on low speed until uniform in color, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes. Remove the dip from the fridge and let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with the chives and then serve with crackers.

Electric Mixer: For achieving a creamy texture when mixing the cream cheese with the braunschweiger, mayonnaise, mustard, garlic salt, onion, and heavy cream. A hand mixer can also be used if an electric mixer is not available.
Mixing Bowl: For combining the cream cheese with the other ingredients. Make sure the bowl is large enough to accommodate all the ingredients.
Serving Bowl: For transferring the completed braunschweiger dip before refrigerating. Make sure the bowl is both functional and aesthetically pleasing for presentation.
Spatula: Helpful for scraping down the sides of the mixing bowl to make sure all ingredients are fully incorporated. Can also be used to transfer the dip to the serving bowl.
