Experiment with different types of onions such as scallions or shallots for a different flavor.

For a spicy twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the dressing.

Mix in diced avocado or cucumber for a heartier mixture.

Can I substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream?

Yes, Greek yogurt can be used as a lighter alternative to sour cream, though the flavor and texture may differ slightly.

What is the best way to cook the shrimp for this recipe?

Boiling or steaming the shrimp until they are pink and opaque is the best method for this recipe. Be careful not to overcook them. Also, if you are cooking them right before preparing the recipe, make sure they are cooled completely or the dressing may become watery.

How long will the dilled shrimp last in the refrigerator?

The dilled shrimp can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. It is best served fresh for optimal flavor and texture.

Can I freeze the dilled shrimp?

  1. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

Impressive and always a crowd pleaser. I double the dried organic dill and garnish with fresh dill. FAGE Total 0% Plain Greek Yogurt can be used instead of sour cream. Marinating overnight and patting the cooked and cleaned shrimp dry a must.

  2. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

This is a fabulous recipe, great as an appetizer or for cocktail parties. I have made this for years and it is always a huge hit! I use frozen cooked shrimp from Costco, and serve it with toothpicks and provide small plates for ease in eating. You must let it marinate overnight to develop flavors. I do defrost the shrimp before adding the rest of the ingredients.
