Mmmm...so good! 'Tis the season to serve this delicious aromatic drink that warms the soul and fills the air with sweet apples and spiced tones. It's sure to be a big hit at any holiday party.

2 quarts apple cider
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon whole allspice
1 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
orange slices
Combine the cider and brown sugar in the crock pot. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Add the remaining spices (they can be loose or put in a spice bag) and float the orange slices on top.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 2-4 hours or longer. Remove spices and oranges before serving. Can be served with additional cinnamon sticks as stirrers.

An easy way to give simple apple cider some new life. I buy the cheap kind and simmering it like this for a few hours adds a lot of flavor.
