COOKIES
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup pumpkin
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

FROSTING
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 pound powdered sugar
1 stick butter
8 ounces cream cheese

directions

For Cookies: Cream shortening, sugar and pumpkin. Add egg and mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients.

Drop from a spoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.

For Frosting: Beat frosting ingredients until smooth. Frost cookies after they have cooled.
