Bow Ties With Palomino Sauce

ingredients
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 small onion, finely chopped (almost minced)
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 banana pepper, minced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups marinara sauce
16 ounces bow tie pasta
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup sliced fresh basil leaves
directions
In a nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and banana pepper and cook until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Stir in milk, cream and salt and heat to boiling over medium-high heat. Stir in marinara sauce and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook bow ties according to package directions and drain returning to pot with sauce. Add Parmesan cheese and basil and toss and serve.
