Here's why this pork roast is so spot on, you hit it with the broiler to get that scrumptious browned outside, then move it over to the crockpot to slow-cook it until tender.

ingredients

3 pounds loin of pork
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup beef bouillon
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (or to taste)
1 bay leaf

directions

Brown pork roast in broiler for 15 to 30 minutes to remove any excess fat.

Place meat in slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Pour over meat.

Cover pot and set at Low. Cook for 8-10 hours, or until pork is tender.

Just made this today and it was so delicious! To the other person, beef bouillon IS beef broth, you are thinking of beef bouillon powder - which MAKES beef bouillon.

I am trying this recipe and there is 1 ingredient that I believe maybe wrong. Is it really 1/2 Cup of beef bouillon? I stopped at 1/8 cup because I thought it would be too salty. I was correct. The 1/8 cup makes the sauce edible but too salty for my pallet. Should it maybe be 1/2 tsp. beef bouillon or 1/2 cup beef broth?
