If you can boil water, you can make this Indiana spaghetti. It's as simple as cooking bacon, sauteing some onions, and tossing it all together for a winning dish.

4 slices bacon
1 onion, sliced
1 jar (26 ounce size) spaghetti sauce
1 package (12 ounce size) spaghetti pasta
Bring a large pot of water to boil over medium-high heat. Add the pasta. Cook as directed on the package until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
Meanwhile, heat a deep skillet over medium high heat. Add the bacon and cook, turning as needed, until browned. Remove the bacon to paper toweling to drain.
Drain off any excess grease from the skillet (leaving 1 tablespoon or so). Add the onion to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until soft and lightly browned.
Add the spaghetti sauce to the skillet. Coarsely chop the bacon and add back to the skillet. Mix well and heat through.
Place the pasta in a bowl. Add the sauce and mix well. Serve immediately.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
