Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Simply seasoned pork chops are baked on a bed of long grain and wild rice and topped with a cream sauce.

1 box (6 ounce size) long grain and wild rice
2 cups hot water
6 lean pork chops
salt and pepper
1 can cream of mushroom or celery soup
1/2 cup milk
Combine rice and water in 2-1/2 quart casserole. Salt and pepper pork chops to taste. Arrange on top of rice mixture. Bake covered 1 hour at 350 degrees F.
Combine soup and milk. When casserole is done, pour soup mixture over casserole. Return to oven, uncovered, and bake until soup is bubbly.
