24 Hour Cabbage Salad

ingredients
8 cups cabbage, shredded
1 1/2 cup carrots, shredded
1 onion, chopped finely
2 green bell peppers, chopped finely
1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1 cup vinegar
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup oil
directions
Combine vegetables in large bowl. Dissolve gelatin in water. Heat vinegar and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add seasonings and moistened gelatin.
Cool until the thickness of cream. Beat in oil. Pour over vegetables and toss. Refrigerate 24 hours.
