A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

Green beans with almonds is a side dish done best when done simply. Beans perfectly steamed, toasted almonds, and plenty of butter. Hint: toasting the almonds is key!
2 pounds green beans, ends trimmed
4 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons sliced almonds
salt and pepper, to taste
Set a steamer basket over 1 inch of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the green beans and steam until crisp-tender, about 7 minutes.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the almonds. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes or until the butter is browned and the almonds are toasted.
Add the green beans to the skillet and toss to coat in the butter.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve hot.

Green beans almondine taste absolutely delicious. The green beans are crisp tender and the almonds add a nice crunch to it as well. The browned butter helps to make a rich dish that is not too heavy. I would definitely recommend this dish for a side dish for any meal.

It seems kinda silly to rate such a basic recipe with five stars, but honestly - you can't beat the simplicity and good flavor of this recipe.
