2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup pure 100% pumpkin puree
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease baking sheets.
Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and gradually add sugar. Add beaten eggs and pumpkin, mixing well. Blend in sifted ingredients until well mixed. Add chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, spacing well apart. Bake on top rack of oven for 15 minutes.
