ingredients
1/2 cup sourdough starter
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped nuts
directions
Cream together the butter and sugar, then add the egg.
Dissolve soda in sourdough starter. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with sourdough starter to the creamed butter mixture. Add vanilla, raisins and nuts.
Drop by teaspoons on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes.
