- add review
- #26311
Elevate your chocolate French silk pie by adding a hint of mint extract to it. Top the pie with whipped cream and serve it chilled.
2-5 hrs
ingredients
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/2 pound butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
4 eggs
1/2 teaspoon mint extract
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (9-inch size) chocolate or graham cracker ready-made pie crust
directions
Melt the unsweetened chocolate in the top of a double boiler or in the microwave. Let cool.
Combine the butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until combined. With the mixer running, add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir the cooled chocolate, mint, and vanilla into the pie filling and mix well.
Pour the pie filling into the crust. Chill until firm, about 2 hours.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
