ingredients
CAKE BATTER
3/4 cup butter, at room temperature
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cup sliced strawberries or blueberries
GARNISH
powdered sugar
1 cup whole strawberries
directions
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each. Mixture will be firm.
Sift together 3 cups flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture, alternating with milk. Toss strawberries with remaining 1 tablespoon flour and fold into batter.
Scrape batter into greased and floured 12-cup Bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees F until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean, about 1-1/4 hours.
Cool in pan on rack 15 minutes, then unmold cake onto rack to cool completely.
Dust cake with powdered sugar and fill center with whole berries before serving.
