After reading the rave reviews, I just had to try this bread. I must say, this is one of the best tasting breads I have made!! It is especially good toasted!! Using only 1.5 cups of flour, and 1 cup of grits, I couldn't imagine it even resembling bread, but it is really awesome!! I used the 'Dough' setting on my bread machine, then baked it at 350 in my oven to an internal temp of 190. If you like homemade bread, you have to try this unique, yet astounding recipe-you'll be glad you did!!

For this recipe you need to have freshly cooked grits which are liquidy. The small amount of additional water might not even be needed, depending on how much liquid is in the grits. I was surprised too, but it works.

I have been making bread machine bread for 25 years, and I found this recipe recently and tried it. It was gone in 15 minutes so I had to make a second one right away. My wife says it is her new favorite. Extremely light and tasty.

I wasn't sure about this but am so glad I tried it. It is surprisingly good. My husband said it's his favorite bread I've made and it does have a great flavor and texture. Only 2 TBS of water and a little margarine and it's super moist. No detectable flavor of grits, just white bread that has a decent amount of flavor and just enough substance about it. Often white bread just lacks that something, but this is a crowd pleaser. Of note, when I peered into my bread maker just shortly before it was finished, I was afraid it hadn't risen enough and it was going to be one of those sorrowful overly dense loafs. It wasn't. It's just a rather small loaf...I used the 1.5 lb setting and light instead of medium, although I think I should have used the medium as the recipe recommends.
