ingredients
12 ounces flour
8 ounces sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon mixed spice
4 ounces butter
1/2 teaspoon yeast
fat for frying
Syrup
1 1/2 pound sugar
1 pint water
cinnamon
directions
Mix the yeast with a little sugar, then add the mixed dry ingredients. Beat the eggs and add to the mixture. Knead all together and leave to stand for 1 hour.
Roll out and cut into rectangles. Fry in deep fat. When cooked, dip into syrup.
For Syrup: Boil together with a little cinnamon for taste.

The dough part of this recipe is all wrong. I had to double the flour to get it to come right and I think the butter and sugar in the dough is wrong too.
