1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ounces baking chocolate, melted and cooled
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
powdered sugar

directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until creamy.

In another bowl, stir together the flour and baking powder. Add the flour mixture by hand to the chocolate mixture, stirring until well mixed.

Place the powdered sugar in a shallow dish.

Roll the dough into small balls then roll in the powdered sugar to coat. Place the cookies on a baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until done.

Remove from the oven and transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
