ingredients
Dough
1 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
1 egg
4 cups flour
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Filling
1 egg
1/3 cup Cream of Wheat or farina
2 1/2 cups water
1 cup poppy seeds
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter
Topping
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons evaporated milk
directions
Combine ingredients for dough in a processor, then process until a lump forms and dough is ready. Press into the bottom of a spring form pan.
Make cereal with water and pour over remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour over the base in pan.
Mix topping in processor to a crumbly consistency. Sprinkle over filling.
Bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 60 minutes, more or less. You may drizzle it with icing, but you may find it is not necessary.
