ingredients

1 box (18.25 ounce size) yellow cake mix
1 can (30 ounce size) blueberry pie filling
4 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 cup sugar

directions

Follow directions on package of cake mix. Pour batter into a greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake as directed on package. Cool.

Next, spread blueberry pie filling on top of cake.

Beat the egg whites (at room temperature) and cream of tartar at high speed of an electric mixer for 1 minute. Gradually add sugar. Beat until peaks form and sugar dissolves. Spread over blueberry filling. Bake at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the meringue peaks are lightly browned.
