It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Traditional tandoori chicken is an involved cooking process. This quick-and-easy version gives you all the great flavor without all the work.
8 chicken thighs, boneless, skinless
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon oil, cooking
1/4 cup onion, minced
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 piece (1/2-inch size) ginger, grated
1/2 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup white wine
1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup lime juice
3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
In a small dish, mix together onion, garlic, ginger, coriander, cumin, curry powder, salt, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Set aside.
Place the butter and oil in a saute pan, and heat over medium heat until butter melts. Add chicken and cook for about 5 minutes.
Turn the chicken and add spice mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes more or until the onion is slightly brown. Add wine and cover and cook for about 10 minutes or until the chicken is fork tender.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together the yogurt and the flour. Blend in the lime juice and set aside.
Remove the chicken to a warm serving dish. To pan drippings, add yogurt mixture and cook, stirring, until mixture is warm, but do not boil.
Pour sauce over chicken. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with rice or barley pilaf.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Keeping a can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the freezer means you can make more than just orange juice. Try it in a variety of orange-flavored recipes.

Umm, looks to be about the same amount of work as any authentic Tandoori recipe. I researched a number of other sites and failed to see the involved process you mentioned. It's (maybe marinated)seasoned and grilled, roasted or broiled chicken. Finding some of the authentic spices may be problematic if you don't have access to an eastern market or a well stocked spice store. Regardless, everything can be obtained online. This is a great, daily, go-to site for super recipes.
Sounds like the other recipes you mentioned were also modified for the home cook to easily make if they weren't made in the traditional tandoor, a special clay oven (hence the involved cooking process) that the chicken dish was named after.

Very tasty. I used sliced chicken breasts instead of thighs. If you go this option, you might want to reduce the lime juice. This is a definite keeper.
