This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that chocolate should always have a starring role in dessert. This sinful chocolate obsession makes it easy to whip up something truly delicious without too much fuss.

1 3/4 cup light brown sugar, divided
1 cup flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup blanched sliced almonds (optional)
ice cream
Stir together 1 cup of brown sugar, flour, 3 tbs cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Whisk in the milk, melted butter and vanilla. Spread over bottom of a 3 1/2 qt. cooker.
Mix remaining 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and almonds. Sprinkle evenly over top of the batter but do not stir. Carefully pour the water over all (again, do not stir). Cover and cook until a toothpick inserted in center, comes out clean, about 2 hours on HIGH.
NOTE: Do not cook on low for a longer period of time. It doesn't work. Spoon the warm pudding into individual bowls serve with scoops of ice cream on top.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
