The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

2-5 hrs
ingredients

Cake
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chocolate chips or butterscotch chips (optional)
1 package (18.25 ounce size) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup dark rum
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 package (3.5 ounce size) instant vanilla pudding mix

Glaze
1/2 cup butter
1/8 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup rum
directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube or Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips, if using, over the bottom of the pan.
Mix together the cake mix, rum, eggs, water, oil, and pudding mix. Pour batter over the nuts in the pan.
Bake for 1 hour. Remove from oven, wait 10 minutes, then poke deep holes through cake with a skewer and then pour glaze over cake while still in the baking pan. Let cake cool completely before removing from pan.
When cake has cooled, carefully run a knife around the outside and inside edges of the Bundt pan and invert onto a cake plate. Dust generously with powdered sugar.
GLAZE: Make the glaze by melting the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove glaze from heat, and stir in the rum. Pour directly over top of warm cake.
