ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup raisins or nuts
6 tablespoons hot water
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
Cream shortening and sugar. Stir into creamed shortening beaten eggs, raisins and 2 tablespoons of hot water.
Sift dry ingredients together and add. Dissolve cocoa in 4 tablespoons of hot water and add last. Mix well.
Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet, place a nut or raisin on top of each cookie. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees F.
