The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Based on the flavor, it was hard to believe that this dip was only three ingredients. It was hearty and a meal in itself. I think I used the wrong type of crackers, as it got too salty after a while.

I followed the other suggestion and chopped the onions in my food processor. This dip is delicious! It's very rich but you won't be able to stop eating it.

I put the onions in a food processor and really grind them fine. I find more people love the dip that way because they don't really think about the onions, they just love the flavor!

I have made this dip MANY times and it's always a hit. I only use hellmanns mayo and I add 1-3 TBLS of hotsauce (depending on how spicy you want it) (Normally I only use 1 TBLS.)

Absolutely the easiest recipe that I have for appetizers. Can't rate it high enough....it's a "10". People hesitant to try "onion"..but can't eat enough once it is tried. I make a double recipe each time.
