Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

ingredients
3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter, at room temperature
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce, or to taste
Tabasco sauce, to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh scallion greens
12 celery stalks, small to medium, trimmed and chilled
directions
In a mixing bowl, stir together the peanut butter, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco until smoothly blended. Fold in the scallions.
With a knife, spread a dollop of the mixture down the groove of each celery stalk. Arrange the stalks on a tray or plate and serve immediately.
This makes a great hors d'oeuvre that goes remarkably well with Bloody Marys.
