Spanish Cinnamon Almond Cake - CDKitchen.com

ingredients

1 package devil's food cake mix
1 tablespoon flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup whole blanched almonds
2 ounces semisweet chocolate, grated

directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 10" tube pan and coat with mixture of flour and half of cinnamon. Arrange almonds in bottom of pan. Combine grated chocolate and remaining cinnamon.

Prepare cake as directed on package. Carefully spoon one third of batter over almonds. Sprinkle on half of chocolate mixture over batter. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate mixture, and cover with remaining batter.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 to 60 minutes. Cake is done if toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Let cool for 1 hour in pan. Remove from pan and serve with whipped cream or whipped topping if desired.
