It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

- #66561
under 30 minutes
ingredients
1/2 pound okra
2 cups sliced onion
1 teaspoon turmeric
directions
Cut away and discard the knobby stems of the okra. Slice across into 1/8-inch round slices and set aside.
Heat a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Add onion and saute for 2 minutes.
Stir in turmeric. Add okra and lower heat slightly. Cook uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes or until the okra is just tender, shaking the pan occasionally.
The sticky substance, which will be visible during cooking, will disappear by the time okra is cooked. Serve hot.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
