The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

4 leeks, trim, split, wash well
3/4 cup nonfat vegetarian broth, chicken flavor
salt and pepper, to taste
2 teaspoons low fat margarine
directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Put the leeks in the baking dish with the cut side down. Add the broth, salt and pepper and margarine (if you are using it). Cover with foil. Bake for about 1 hour.
