ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2/3 cup evaporated milk
2 envelopes dry onion soup mix
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
directions
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, milk, soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce. Form the mixture into small, bite-sized meatballs.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides. Drain off any grease.
Add the ketchup and brown sugar to the crock pot. Whisk to combine. Add the browned meatballs to the sauce and gently stir so they are coated in the sauce.
Cover the crock pot and cook on high for 30-60 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through. Serve hot.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

I use low sodium tomato sauce instead of ketchup because the onion soup mix and worcester sauce add quite a bit of sodium. The meatballs are good, make them small so you can use toothpicks to pick them up.
