From dying hair to making soda, Kool-aid has many uses. Give your ice cream float a pop with flavored Kool-aid and club soda. A cool treat on a hot summer day.
1 envelope unsweetened soft drink mix, any flavor (such as Kool-Aid®)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup cold water
1 bottle (28 ounce size) club soda, chilled
1 pint vanilla ice cream or sherbet
Combine the drink mix, sugar, and cold water in a pitcher. Mix well until the drink mix and sugar has started to dissolve.
Gently stir in the club soda.
To serve, place a scoop of ice cream in each individual glass. Slowly stir in some of the soda mixture, leaving enough room to top it with another scoop of ice cream. Add the second scoop of ice cream but do not stir. Serve immediately.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.
