30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter until light and fluffy. Add the sugar gradually, and cream thoroughly.
Stir in the flour and add a pinch of salt. Continue to mix until a smooth ball of dough is formed.
Roll out the dough about 1/4-inch thick on a board lightly coated with flour. Cut with a "doughnut-shaped" cutter 2 1/2 inches in diameter, or use any decorative cookie cutter you desire.
Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for about 25 minutes, or until the cookies are dry but pale in color. Remove from the baking sheet only when the cookies have cooled.

They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
